'The Ups And The Downs'
The first Single to be lifted from their sensational new double album "The Slow Cyclone."
Released: Monday 17th November 2014
2 minutes and 55 seconds of life affirming, raw kinetic energy, with a sound that is a collision of South African township rhythms, The Byrds, buzzsaw rhythm guitar played on a toy guitar through an amplifier made from a cereal box full of wasps, with harmonies by a cosmic male voice choir.
The lyrics deal with Alexander the Great, the horrors of typecasting for Basil Rathbone ("It made his name, brought global fame, but turned him into stone"), the trauma of domestic conflict, and the consolation of domestic panther purrs.
This is just one of the tracks from 24 song epic "The Slow Cyclone", released on 3rd November.
A double album comprising "proper" pop songs, weird interludes, science fiction love songs, mantras, cosmic country songs, 12 string guitar instrumentals, heartbroken robot songs, and "Leonard Cohen in 1968" songs of mortality.
